What is Fake3D?

Fake 3D is a technique that simulates a 3D preview using a sequence of 2D renders captured from multiple angles around the object. Instead of exporting a real 3D model or interactive viewport, the addon renders a controlled turntable of the selected object and saves each frame as an image. When viewed in sequence, these images create the illusion of a rotating 3D object, making Fake 3D ideal for store previews, UI elements, item showcases, inventories, and any scenario where a lightweight, engine-friendly visual representation is preferred over real-time 3D.

Custom Banners

In addition to individual snapshots, the addon can automatically generate custom composite banners by scanning snapshot folders and assembling multiple views into predefined layouts (such as 3×2, 2×4, 6×1 or 1×6). These banners are ideal for marketplace headers, store previews and promotional images, with optional padding and background color, generated directly from your rendered snapshots.

How It Works

Simply select one or more 3D objects in your scene and click Snapshot 6 Views or Generate Fake 3D.

The addon automatically calculates the object bounds, creates orthographic cameras, renders the object from multiple directions or angles, applies optional post-processing, and restores the object to its original transform.

All rendering uses your existing scene lighting and materials. The addon automates the entire rendering and post-processing pipeline without altering your setup.

Important Notes

• Only MESH objects are processed.
• Lighting and materials are fully controlled by the user.
• Objects can be placed anywhere in the scene — the addon handles centering automatically during rendering.
• All object transformations are temporary and fully restored after rendering.
• The addon does not permanently modify your scene.
